WICKED has flown to The Lowry in the final part of its broomstick tour of the UK.

This is your last chance to see the West End and Broadway musical phenomenon, that tells the story of the Witches of Oz, outside of London.

Wicked has been seen by 47 million people in 13 countries and won 100 international awards.

It has also sold almost 1.5 million tickets since going on tour in the UK with its premiere at the Palace Theatre in Manchester in 2013.

And the theatre set has travelled more than 13,000 miles from the USA and Canada to be on The Lowry's stage.

Directed by Tony award-winner Joe Mantello, the story is about the misunderstood 'wicked' witch Elphaba (Ashleigh Gray) and her unlikely friendship with Glinda the Good (Emily Tierney).

They both dream of meeting the Wizard of Oz but have very different reactions when their paths finally cross.

Wicked is based on the novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire.

Maguire's story runs parallel to 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz', which was written more than a century ago by L. Frank Baum.

- Wicked is at The Lowry in Salford Quays until July 25. Tickets are from £20. Visit thelowry.com or call 0843 208 6000.
