THE M62 is now fully reopen following a crash early this morning.

The collision, involving a HGV and a car, took place at 4am today and eastbound lanes near to the Croft interchange at junction 10 were closed.

Firefighters had to free the 30-year-old male driver of the car who was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

The lanes were reopened shortly after 8am.

A Highways Agency spokesman said queues are likely during rush hour.

Police are at the scene.

i passed this accident heading in the opposite direction and my first thoughts were that no-one could have survived this accident . it was a very serious looking crash and i hope that the driver makes a full recovery and is up and about soon.

Just found about this and I know the lad who was in this vehicle! Everyone has their fingers crossed he makes a full recovery and I'm praying for him and his family at this time!

vickram 25yrs is a fun loveing guy friend, borther,cousin and is now stable, he's a soldier n a fighter thats r vick. kid u must of had someone watching over you. you have been lay their with your eyes shut not knowing the heartbreak weve been going through watching one of the babys of the family in so much pain n not being able to help you.

I heard about Vik the other day and I cant believe what happened and Im so pleased he's now stable! I'm a friend of the family and know how much he is loved by everyone! Keeping my fingers crossed he makes a full recovery! He's a wonderful lad and this shouldn't have happened to him - as Sab said someone was definately watchin over him and I hope they still are! I cant imagine what the family is going through but I'm sure everything will be alright soon and he'll be back to his usual self! Thinking and praying for you Vik! Xx
