Vics return for Roberts
Exclusive By Andrew Simpson

MARK Roberts is back at his home town club on loan.

The Accrington Stanley stopper - a target for Dino Maamria since January - has agreed to aid Vics' Blue Square Premier survival bid.

He has penned a loan deal until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old spent six months at the Marston's Arena last season under Steve Burr before turning down the offer of a new deal and switching to Stanley instead.

He is not the only newcomer on deadline day for loan moves.

Stanley teammate David Brown has also joined until the end of the season on loan.

The 29-year-old striker has had a taste of Blue Square Premier action already this season at Rushden & Diamonds.

He began his career at Manchester United before going on to play more than 100 matches for Hull City.

From there he had short spell at Torquay United before moving into non-league football.

More to follow.

It will be interesting to see how Mark Roberts pairs with Welchie - a legend at Stanley after his goal at Stockport.
