Quins game another physical test, warns Moz
Wolves captain Adrian Morley
Wolves captain Adrian Morley

ADRIAN Morley has warned that Wolves will face another test of their endurance this weekend with only five days between Monday's win at Castleford and Saturday's home match against Harlequins.

Wolves played a physically demanding two games in four days over the Easter period and the second game - the 34-31 triumph at Castleford - proved tough for both sides.

Morley and fellow prop Paul Rauhihi, who have both been in outstanding form this season, spent considerably less time on the field at Cas.

The skipper suspects both Wolves and Quins will still be feeling tired after their Easter exertions when they clash at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday.

But Morley hopes Wolves will then have chance to recharge in the eight-day lead-up to the April 6 trip to Wakefield, with the squad expected to be given next Monday and Tuesday off.

He said: "The Easter period is always very tough but we're not on our own.

"Every team goes through the same stuff. It's going to be tough playing two games in four days and then backing up five days later.

"But if we can get another two points we've got eight days turnaround then, so we'll be able to freshen up and get back in for Wakefield.

"We were delighted with the two points at Castleford.

"I thought we made hard work of it and maybe got out of jail but all in all to score the amount of points we did was a credit and we'll take the two points."

Positive stuff and all teams had the same programme over Easter except Leeds who played a day earlier than everyone else - why?
We should beat Quins - but!

The regular season lasts the same length of time for all twelve clubs, so lets not become saints and wigan fans (e.g. excuse hunters) If the wolves are as good as we think they will overcome the fixture list. When you are winning you just want to get back out there as quickly as possible and the wolves are winning. four points from harlequins and wakefield will set us up nicely for our top of the table clash at headingley! Never thought i'd hear myself say this but i hope the pies get one over on leeds next week.

No disrespect to you all .. as they have to sell newspapers and I'm into the same scene myself .... but at the end of the day, all the talk in the world doesn't change anything at match-time. Just be prepared to back up what you say, team, that's all I ask, as a Wire fan ... what gets my goat is when I read the papers and websites all week and then we get a holding penalty in the third minute which leads to an opponent' try .... or a high tackle in the tenth which leads to a sin-binning.

Inevitably, it happens to all teams, most weeks ..... Dave Maskall had it right when it talked about the "Three D's" ... (although I'm still curious and waiting for the fourth he mentioned).

Gob off all week all you want, Team and coach .... talk about "we can be better" and "it will be a pack battle ...". This evening's game is gonna be as slushy and slow as both of last nights.

Stop talking - and PRODUCE! And then carry on producing ..... week in and week out. You keep your half of the bargain and WE promise you that we'll keep ours! Is that too much to ask?

By the way, I know most fans were talking and hoping for a Saints win last night (just so we could claim "joint-top" on points difference ..... for the minute) - but I loved every minute of their defeat, as they are our bogey team (now 4 points behind us, if we win today) ..... as WE are Leeds'!

I had to laugh when Stevo said, last night, "If Saints can't beat Leeds at home, then WHO else will? MY mind just had a little flashback to a couple of weeks ago ............. when bottom-of-the-league ... and winless ... Castleford DID! They kicked their "bottoms" royally!

Looking forward to a great game tonight, fellow fans! Now the Wire!! Take your brollies!
