FORMER drug addicts will be revealing the true horrors and trauma of dependence in a special event in Crewe next week.

Hard-hitting musical The Journey will be staged by Teen-Challenge UK at the New Life Community Church at Fuller Driver on Tuesday evening.

The musical, which is sponsored jointly by the West Street Christian Fellowship and New Life Community Church, tells the story of a young man's search for freedom from his nightmare world of addiction.

The Journey is an inspirational full stage production that runs for 90 minutes with songs, musical, large screen video and drama.

It has a real message of hope for those who are struggling with life-controlling problems and gives young people an insight into the world and dangers of a lifestyle that is often very alluring.

The cast are all graduates of the Teen-Challenge programme - each with their own remarkable story of escape from drug or alcohol addiction.

The free event starts at 7.30pm.
