Toga Toga vows to fight council

THE owners of a club in Winnington are to appeal after it was refused a sex establishment licence.

Toga Toga Ltd in Winnington Lane houses swingers club Toga Toga and festish club Spanked after owner Alex Hughes took it over earlier this year.

These councillors who sat on the committee are representatives of the people, yet there have been no objections to the nature of our business at all.

At a meeting of the licensing sub committee he and co-owner Walter Johnston told members they were unaware when they took over the lease that they needed to apply for the licence.

They admitted they had not been aware how close the proposed Winnington Urban Village would be.

But they told the committee there was no intention to advertise the club locally but only on the Internet and in specialist publications, and since opening there had been no problems with the police.

But members of a licencing sub committee decided the location and situation of the club in relation to other premises in the area was not appropriate having regard to the character of the locality as one of mixed industrial, commercial and residential use.

They were specifically concerned about the close proximity of the day nursery and permitted residential development.

They also said the number of sex establishments considered suitable for the Winnington area was nil and therefore the granting of such an application would exceed this figure.

After the decision Toga Toga Ltd's manager Dave Ortegga said they would appeal.

He said: "This is a members' club.

"We are not advertising for members of the public to come in.

"It is all completely behind closed doors.

"These councillors who sat on the committee are representatives of the people, yet there have been no objections to the nature of our business at all.

"We went through the application process and there was not one objection."

Seems a bit odd? No one has objected and yet Toga Toga are refused!? What on earth has a Day Nursery got to do with it? They are open at opposite ends of the day surely. There have been no complaints to the Police. The Urban Village is only a 'proposed' development it's not even there yet. Toga Toga where there first.

How can a place that has had no objections be subject to refusal and yet a place that has had many, many objections still be ongoing? EG the stupid incinerator.

I didnt even no that this place was there until i picked my daughter up from a motor cycle coure when i saw all kinds of weirdos going in and out come on i am a man of the world but these people are not right in the head why come to a place in a town to have sex and play around keep it in your homes this is a breeding ground for peods

Yes Stuart's comments are little too far-fetched when he talks about greeding grounds for "peods"

However, this just goes to confirm that Northwich is a dumping ground in that stick these "irregular" types of businesses in areas where they are run down, unprosperous and out of the way, to allow the kinky people of all classes from more affluent areas (who don't want places like this on their door step), to happily drive over here and get up to their kinky fetishes!

Yeah, let's have it I say. Northwich is a dumping ground anyway - it can do no harm :-)

But you could be suprised if they accidently whipped out there membership card to Toga Toga in stead of there id card..

Because they are NORMAL..

Stuart,After reading your comments above i felt a had to reply.How dare you!!! Compare swingers to peodo,s.When you were sat in the park just before 10pm did you by any chance get all the names of the people there and do a membership check with Toga Toga to make sure they were the same people who attend the club.No i didnt think so.You should go back into the little corner of your perfect world and stay there.Don,t bother opening your eyes to see that there is a lot more going on in this big world,like children dying of starvation,the threat to world peace,ext.If people want to pay to join a private members club and are consenting adults,what goes on there is of no concern to you.Or are you peeved because you cant see what goes on unlike the park were you can get a free view. My advice to you is to stop taking those bitter pills and see the doc for a replacement script. Lucy.

New club has opened in Southport and one due in Liverpool, no objetcions, leave the Cheshire set to themselves. If not welcome we all know where we will be. Cheshires loss.
