STAFF and students at the University of Chester's Padgate campus have joined forces with celebrities including Dr Who to support a pioneering project across Southern Africa.
Not-for-profit organisation One Water funds unique 'Playpump' systems to provide water to communities that would otherwise be forced to spend hours travelling to their nearest source.
Through selling bottles of One Water at its Warrington site, the university is hoping to raise enough money to fund their own Playpump system.
The campaign is the brainchild of Duncan Goose, Global Ethics' managing director and is supported by celebrities such as Doctor Who star David Tennant.
Ian White, director of catering services said: "This is an absolutely superb and worthwhile campaign and we are very proud to be a part of it. We are looking forward to the day when staff and students can say they have raised enough money to pay for a scheme that changes the lives of the people who need it the most."
