Two Orthodox Rabbis are taking the Jewish Music scene by storm in Manchester, as Rabbi Danny Bergson and Rabbi Mitch Goodman prepare for an upcoming concert June 17th at the Waterside Arts Centre, Sale.

Video footage from their last two events which has been posted on various internet sites has attracted over 10,000 viewings, suggesting these two Rabbis know as much about music as they do about the Jewish Torah.

Rabbi Danny is a professional singer who is booked long in advance for weddings, seminars and music evenings across the UK and Rabbi Mitch has been a professional guitarist for the past 15 years.

The upcoming concert is the third in recent months, with attendances at their events building fast - first 60 people in a friend's house, then 200 at the Hale Synagogue and now over 200 at a state of the art performance theatre.

Their sound is a sophisticated mix of rock jazz and traditional Jewish music and Mitch who plays both electric and acoustic guitar has a level of technical proficiency that makes him world class; with Danny's powerful and sublime vocals they are a match well made. Their original arrangements are both soulful and spiritual, and as educators they have infused their music with meaning.

Both Danny and Mitch are involved full time in adult education in South Manchester and although both have young families and punishing work schedules, they find time to rehearse, compose and arrange new music.

The concert takes place June 17th at The Waterside Arts Centre, Sale, Manchester. Tickets are available on 0161 912 5616 or musicandjoy@hotmail.com
