WARRINGTON sports stars Jade Llewellyn and Chris Johnstone have been identified as potential 2012 Olympians after taking part in a national camp at Loughborough University this week.

Jade, aged 15, is a former Warrington under 16s Sports Personality of the Year winner and was named in the triathlon squad for the National Talent Orientation Camp, which ran from Saturday until Tuesday.

Chris, aged 16, is a talented rower from Warrington Rowing Club and has won indoor events at national level, earning his place in Loughborough among 100 hand-picked youngsters from five sports.

Both teenagers could be in the running for the 2012 Olympics in London if they can continue their progress and Jade was expected to get the chance to receive some expert running tips from double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes this week.

Fellow Warrington Rowing Club member Olivia Oakes, 16, who represented Great Britain at junior level last year, was also selected but was unable to attend because of AS level exams.

The club's coach, Richard Sinnott, was another to be invited to Loughborough but he could not make it because of other commitments.
