DEFENDER Danny Meadowcroft has parted company with Northwich Victoria.
The 22-year-old has moved on because he could not commit to Dino Maamria's new training regime.
"Danny was left with a choice to make," said the Vics boss.
"He could only commit to training a couple of times a week last season and I need more than that this time.
"But Danny has a job outside of football and he felt he could not do any more than that."
Paul Brayson did not return to the Marston's Arena at the turn of the year for the same reason.
Meadowcroft joined Vics from UniBond Premier Division outfit Ossett Town in January, making nine starts plus two as sub as a stand-in stopper.
He had started the campaign at Bradford Park Avenue after leaving Conference National play off winners Morecambe last summer.
Mark Roberts is the only defender currently signed up for the next term, although Maamria told the Guardian he expected Michael Welch and Cortez Belle to put pen to paper on new deals shortly.
Club captain Welch has agreed terms already, while Belle's contract does not run out until the end of next month.
Vics have an option on him and Maamria said he intends to take it up.
